Sim racing is great when everything works.
But it isn’t always like that.
GPU drivers,
mixed resolutions,
frame drops,
brake pedal not responding,
FFB settings that don’t make sense…
And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
The biggest issue of all is that it can be so personal and specific that sometimes you just can’t figure out how to solve it.
And nobody cares… really, people don’t care. YOU care because your system isn’t working. Sure, the community will give advice and I love everyone who tries, but I’ve got a partner for all of my issues. I’ll say I prefer a human, but this solves my problems 10 times quicker, 24/7.
ChatGPT.
Maybe obvious to some, but this bad boy became a lot smarter. Sometimes it doesn’t give you a direct solution, but it gives you something to work with. Now give Chatty this prompt to help you out:
Be a sim racing software teacher. I have (explain problem). Give me the first step to fix this issue and don’t make a long answer, give me short steps to overcome the issue.
After 3 or 4 attempts, if you still haven’t fixed your issue, tell it to come up with new ideas.
I’ve found that I pretty much always fix my problems like this.
What’s also handy is pressing Windows button + Shift + S. Make a screenshot for Chatty and show him the actions you are doing by his instructions. This makes sure you’re taking the correct steps.
If your problem is a warranty issue, you can copy the whole chat and email it to the company for your pedals or screen or whatever. They’ll know what kind of troubleshooting you already did.
This way you don’t stay stuck in software or hardware problems and you can go back to racing ASAP.
Cheers.
