And this means the LMGT3 Porsche just got a hell of a lot slower. For some tracks, that was needed. This car has been a rocket on Interlagos, for instance.
On Spa, however, it was already slow, and now it got even slower. Also, you feel the weight of the car a lot more now. Before, when I was building the 991R car setup pack, it felt too light. Now, it feels more like the murderer I know from ACC, for example. but still better!
There’s another issue with the Porsche that not a lot of people know about: the hot REAR tires.
This happened in a Le Mans race yesterday after a long straight, and I’ve been informed by a beta tester that LMU is aware of the issue. The tires overheat, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
As for BOP updates, I haven’t been putting out videos about lap times because the BOP will be changing a lot going forward. Once most people get out of beginner races and start using open setups, the balance of performance will be an ongoing process as LMU gathers data over time. With the latest update, it’s good to see that the cars are getting balanced out.
To everyone who has bought my setups. THANK YOU! That is a massive help, and I’ll keep improving them when needed. The TC settings are something I’m considering changing, as I’ve already gotten great feedback.
For all the LMU car setups I’ve built so far, I used to run a 7-1-3 TC setting:
TC - 7
TC cut - 1
TC slip - 3
But I got great feedback from my mate Ringelberg. He drives the 296 with a 5-3-3 TC setting.
This morning, I tested every car with that setting, and voilà It works. I don’t know how this translates to every track, but it’s always good to stay open-minded about different settings.
Another thing is the brake bias this is Vital on every track to set it to your liking and I’m saying YOUR liking because it’s impossible to get the right setting for everyone in the presets, also for the fixed setups.
A routine il get into with an out lap is hitting brakes hard on corner entry if I spin it very quickly it is too low meaning 46-54 is LOW
Increasing it for stability 51-49 is considered to be a higher brake bais.
So, in the Patreon store, we now have:
LMGT3 McLaren 720S
LMGT3 BMW M4
LMGT3 Ferrari 296
LMGT3 Porsche 991 R GT3
I am building a video at the moment for the Ford Mustang on setup skill levels 1 to 5 to understand car setups deeply with LMU
PS.
Sometimes LMU updates some cars and it affects the setups if you feel your setup doesn’t feel good anymore then il fix it as fast as I possibly can
Cheers,
Arnout
